Wholesale meat supplier DB Foods starts 2021 with a new board of directors and a corporate re-brand.
The new-look board has created a new management structure at the Poole-headquartered business. The line-up is: with Gary Smith, CEO/group CFO, George Holliday, sales director, Max Prudon, operations director, and Stuart Robson, buying director.
Last year was one of significant change for DB Foods. Corporate investor British Growth Fund injected £6.25 million into the DB Foods Group. Some of the additional funding will be used to support ambitious growth plans for online food retailer, MuscleFood, which is part of the group. Also, a new production business, Vantage Foods, has been separated from DB Foods’ operations.
The re-branded wholesale business will focus on building on previous successes in servicing the needs of butcher outlets throughout the UK. The business remains committed to delivering the right product to all customers at the right price.
It’s not just about a new look board or brand, said the company. The initiatives will go further in 2021, with the expansion of sundry products and packaging supplies providing a ‘one-stop shop’ for a butcher’s requirements.
As well as a depot in Banbury, DB Foods also has a depot in Belgium that will be instrumental in managing the challenges of post-Brexit imports. The company said that it believed this approach ensured customer service would remain central to its ethos. A number of technology initiatives are also planned to improve its communications and systems.
“Last year was challenging with all the changes coupled with the obvious threat of Covid-19. We emerge from this period much stronger with a new look, new management focus and business plans that will make 2021 a very exciting year,” said Smith.
