The £130,000 statues, created by sculptor Amy Goodman, were funded by house builder Bellway London as part of its 711-home Copperhouse Green development in the town.
The scheme sits between Lowfield Street and Central Park and is regenerating the former Dartford Brewery and a derelict retail parade. It is also set to include a new café and microbrewery, when it is finished, earmarked for 2028.
Jamie MacArthur, regional planning director at Bellway London, said: "We are proud to be part of the Dartford community and are committed to the regeneration of the town centre.
"This involves not only providing much-needed new homes but also funding other projects which help raise the profile of the area and make it a better place to live.
"This brilliant piece of public art celebrates Dartford’s links to two of the biggest icons in rock and roll history and is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when businesses, local authorities and the community work together on regeneration projects."
The pair, represented in mid-performance, were officially unveiled on August 9 in a ceremony led by the leader of Dartford borough council Jeremy Kite, Amy Goodman and Keith Richards’ granddaughter Ava Richards.
Kit said: "I’d like to thank Bellway London for funding this fantastic sculpture, and of course Amy Goodman, who has created an eye-catching celebration of Dartford’s modern history. Amy has contributed to the character of our town and created a landmark that will last for generations."
Mick and Keith were born and raised in Dartford and went to Wentworth primary school. They later met at Dartford railway station where a conversation about music led to them answering an advert by Brian Jones for bandmates to form a new group called 'The Rolling Stones'.
