Croydon: Historic Aerodrome hotel for sale
The historic Aerodrome hotel in Croydon, which has entered adminstration, has been put on the market with a £9 million price tag.
The 109-bedroom hotel, which was recently refurbished, went into administration in June after the downturn hit its business.
The hotel was opened in 1928 and was designed to be an integral part of the Croydon Airport complex, London’s first international city airport. Famous people who have stayed at the hotel include King George VI and Charlie Chaplin.
David Creamore, director at Christie & Co which is handling the sale, said: “With freehold opportunities becoming increasingly difficult to secure due to limited supply, this represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a high profile hotel in one of the South East’s premier locations, which we believe will attract the attention of many branded operators.”
