Jeremy Cooper, office managing partner of Crowe UK’s Thames Valley office, is delighted to welcome Mark Allen to the firm as a new corporate finance partner.

Allen will provide sell-side and buy-side advisory services (lead advisory) to both corporates and institutional investors in the region, and will work alongside Bob Alsop and the firm’s already very successful transaction services (due diligence) team.

Cooper said: “We are so pleased that Mark has joined us. He’s very well-known and highly regarded in the Thames Valley business and deals community. His level of experience and skill set vastly contributes to the continuing development of our Thames Valley practice, which enables us to provide a seamless full service offering to our current and future clients.”

Bob Alsop, partner, corporate finance, added: “Bringing in someone of Mark’s capability was always a part of our wider corporate finance strategy for the region, a strand of which we have been able to accelerate ahead of plan, due in part to the level of success we have achieved in the market with our transaction services offering. Personally, I’ve known Mark for many years; he has a reputation for delivering great client service, and I know that he will fit in well with the firm.

“Mark’s appointment means that we can offer our clients ‘best in class’ lead advisory and due diligence services as well as specialist tax advice, so as to support them in their transactions, whether buying, selling, or raising funds. It’s a truly holistic corporate finance proposition that I am very excited about.”

Allen said: “I’ve been impressed with the investment Crowe’s made in raising its profile in recent years, as well as developing its international network to become the eighth largest accounting network in the world. I’m excited by the opportunity to grow the brand further here in the Thames Valley where I’ve spent the majority of my career to date. I like Crowe’s entrepreneurial style, its full suite of transaction-related services and the high level of partner involvement in all that we do. I think local businesses and their owners/investors are looking for M&A advisers with a local presence and global reach, so I’m confident we can deliver great results.”

Prior to joining Crowe, Allen worked for a Big Four firm, where he headed up its corporate finance team in Reading, before moving to London to be a senior member of their technology, media and telecoms team.

Allen’s appointment is just the latest in a number of senior hires and promotions made by Crowe Reading over recent years, which has included Jane Mackay (tax M&A and advisory), Bob Alsop (corporate finance), Mark Stemp (private client tax), Andy Hawley (corporate tax), and Christine Dobson (corporate audit).

With a team of over 100 partners and professionals, Crowe’s Thames Valley office is able to support its clients throughout their business lifecycle – from setting up a business and helping with its day-to-day financial control environment, audit and tax compliance through to growth and support with acquisitions. Crowe can also support with personal tax and wealth management, right through to exit planning and execution.

Cooper added: “We’ve worked hard to deliver our strategy of being able to provide a one-stop-shop for the local business and deals community, which has resulted not only in us being more visible and well known in the market place, but has also enabled us to deliver double digit growth for the past four years. I am very proud of what we have managed to achieve thus far, and very grateful to the whole local team – they should be proud too.

“We are a national firm, with global reach and local expertise, so we can help our clients, whoever they are, and whatever they need, to make smart decisions that create lasting value.”
