Local businesses and those working in the creative sector are being asked to give their views on the future shape of the arts in the local area.

Warwick District Council has recently commissioned BOP Consulting, an international consultancy specialising in culture and the creative economy to undertake an assessment of the economic, social and cultural impact of the creative sector in the district.

The results of the impact study could support the formation of the Council’s strategic objectives, including a new Cultural Framework, the Creative Quarter project, and a Public Art policy, which in turn could drive the economic development of the sector raising the district’s profile both nationally and internationally.

Jonathan Todd, BOP’s chief economist, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Warwick District Council in this place of creative pedigree – the third largest digital games cluster in the UK – and in which we have a track record of delivery. This new study is about much more than gaming - it is about all the creative sector, finding new ways for it to fulfil its potential.”

In September 2017, the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and Ukie, the trade body for games and interactive entertainment, announced a two-year programme to grow the games industry and wider digital creative sector in the West Midlands that delivered on many of the recommendations made in BOP’s report, ’The Games Industry in Coventry and Warwickshire - a Blueprint for Growth’, launched earlier that year.

If you are a creative business or worker based in Warwick District and would like to help to inform the future direction of the creative sector, please complete the online survey which is available until Friday 31st May.
