On September 5, Michaela Johns, director at HWB Accountants, was finally able to complete her wing walk for Solent Mind at Compton Abbas Airfield. Originally scheduled for September 2019 the charity wing walk was rescheduled due to bad weather and then delayed earlier this year due to COVID-19.
Michaela Johns said: “After such a long wait, I was so pleased to be able to complete this wing walk for Solent Mind, it was certainly an experience I will never forget but a very strange way of seeing Compton Abbas. I would also like to thank the rest of our team for the effort they have put in help raise money for this great local charity.”
Throughout 2019 HWB put on a number of fundraising events from sky dives to Christmas Jumper and other office charity fun days; bringing the total raised for Solent Mind to £4,447.
Jo Silsbury, corporate liaison officer, said: “The commitment from HWB to both fundraise for our services, and raise awareness of mental health locally is fantastic.”
