Wolverhampton based production company, Light Rave Studios, is among 12 businesses announced today as Ambassadors of the Start Up Loans programme, part of the British Business Bank.

The annual Start Up Loans Ambassadors programme, now in its eighth year, celebrates exceptional business owners who have launched an enterprise using funding from the government-backed scheme.

Light Rave Studios, which is home to photographers and videographers with over 30 years combined experience, has been selected as they embody the can-do mindset it takes to make a start-up successful.

Aitanna Gomes, Co-Founder and Photographer at Light Rave Studios said: At Light Rave Studios, we're committed to producing high-quality footage that exceeds our client's expectations. With a passion for our craft and a drive for excellence, we work tirelessly to deliver stunning visuals that capture the essence of each project.

“The support we have received from the British Business Bank has been one of the reasons we have been able to meet these expectations we have set for ourselves - and to be now chosen as an ambassador for other businesses looking to take out a Start Up Loan is a real honour.”

Light Rave Studios is a female led business seeking to employ different ethnic backgrounds allowing them to capture the different needs of different cultures through familiar knowledge.

The Start Up Loans programme has a track record of supporting underrepresented groups. Of the £82m loaned in the West Midlands, £30m (38%) has been lent to female business owners and £20m (25%) has been lent to people from Black, Asian and Other Ethnic Minority backgrounds (not including White Minorities).

Drawn from each of the UK’s 12 Nations and regions, the 2023 Start Up Loans Ambassadors reflect the broad diversity of sectors and business owners supported via the programme. More details of the businesses selected from each of England’s nine regions and three Devolved Nations can be found below.

Light Rave Studios and the other 2023 Ambassadors will be introduced at a launch event in central London that kick-starts a year-long programme which will see the new ambassadors take part in a series of local and national activities, helping inspire and encourage aspiring start-up founders to take the leap into business ownership.

Dr Sophie Dale-Black, UK Network Director for the Midlands, British Business Bank added: “Aitanna is a wonderful example for young entrepreneurs looking to pursue a business in their passion and the work Light Rave Studios produce is a testament to her hard work. The Start Up Loans programme has helped this business get off the ground and offered the necessary guidance. We are excited to make Aitanna and the team our West Midlands business and look forward to seeing how they inspire others.”
