Bristol’s GingerBeard's Preserves has almost doubled production of its award-winning jams, chutneys, and sauces in just one year thanks to an investment from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.

Harry put Metro Mayor Dan Norris to work bottling some freshly made chutney using the new machinery GingerBeard's Preserves has been able to purchase thanks to the Mayoral support.

The equipment speeds up the process of filling jars of jams, chutneys, and other preserves, increasing the company’s capacity, with production having almost doubled since its installation 11 months ago.

Harry explained how 10 years ago he started out in a one-bed basement flat in Montpellier. By the end of 2024, the company plans to produce up to 200,000 tasty products a year from their Kingswood-based HQ and employ six members of staff.

Metro Mayor Dan Norris said: “The sweet smell of success is really in the air at GingerBeard's Preserves. It’s great to be able to support a growing local business like this.”

Harry Calvert said: “The equipment purchased thanks to the grant scheme has helped us to safely increase production while keeping it small batch, meaning we can supply more of our awesome tasting craft preserves to the people of Bristol and beyond.
