Hawtin also has extensive local planning authority experience with previous secondments at Bristol city council and Sedgemoor district council (now Somerset council).

Andrew Cockett, senior director and head of the Bristol office, said: "Alex is a great addition to our Bristol team.

"He has excellent experience and strengthens our services as we continue to grow off the back of a diverse, high quality client base and exciting portfolio of work."

Hawtin added: "I’m really looking forward to taking my career to the next level at Lichfields and being part of a strong and highly professional team.

"I know the region well, so will be looking to develop my local networks further and broaden my skills and experience working on a wide variety of projects."

With a current turnover of more than £2 million, Lichfields Bristol has seen substantial revenue growth in the last 24 months on the back of an increased workload from both regional private and public sector clients.

Lichfields was founded in 1962 and is the UK’s longest-established independent planning and development consultancy.
