International legal practice Osborne Clarke, which employs more than 650 people at its Temple Quay offices, has achieved a UK revenue of £166.4 million, an increase of eight per cent from £154.6 million in 2019/20.

Internationally it has achieved a revenue of €341 million  for 2020/21. This is a seven per cent  increase on 2019/20 and a 55 per cent increase over five years.

The firm’s technology, media and communications (TMC) practice grew 21 per cent, retail and consumer increased by 16 per cent, energy and utilities was up b yeight per cent and financial services up seven per cent.

Peter Clough, head of Osborne Clarke's Bristol office said: "Despite the testing circumstances, I am thrilled to see the hard work of our people reflected in these results. I would like to thank our people and clients for their fantastic support."

Having been founded in Bristol, the firm retains strong ties to the city. Last year the firm announced that it was moving its Temple Quay office to Halo, a landmark green office building that will form the next phase of the award-winning Finzels Reach development. Osborne Clarke has spent the last year planning and working with its people on the design of the new office.

Peter said: "We are slowly welcoming our people back to our office and we are very much looking forward to our future in Bristol. We have been putting preparations in place for our 2022 move to Halo - our new office in Finzels Reach.

"It has been incredibly exciting working through the designs and incorporating all the different elements of our vison into the office. The pandemic and move to remote working and the lessons we've learnt during this time are informing what our future office will look like. Post-Covid our employees and clients still see our office as playing an important role in their working lives but they also expect changes. Health, wellbeing and sustainability are high on their list of priorities and Halo's design will focus on these elements.

"The pandemic has highlighted the importance of access to outdoor and green space for mental health and - as well as an outdoor roof terrace - there'll be lots of plants, natural materials and colour schemes used in the build. The materials will be as sustainable, robust and long-lasting as possible. There will also be more open collaboration spaces as the last year has proved not every lawyer client interaction needs to be in a formal meeting room. Halo is being designed to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding rating – the top rating for sustainability from one of the world's leading sustainable building accreditation bodies. Once completed it is set to be one of the most sustainable offices in not only the South West but in the whole of the UK."
