Trethowans has expanded its team of legal experts in Bournemouth with the appointment of Robert Bajaj.

Bajaj joins the law firm as a partner in the commercial litigation team, having worked as a solicitor in Bournemouth for 28 years.

Bajaj specialises in commercial disputes, commercial property issues and insolvency. Throughout his career he has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients, including those based locally as well as FTSE 100 firms.

His reputation for achieving results for clients has seen him listed in the Legal 500, described as having an “amazing knowledge” in his field, as well as being quick and efficient.

Bajaj said: “I wanted to join Trethowans because I could very much relate to its approach. It’s a commercial firm with a personal touch, big enough to have influence and resource but not so big as to be impersonal. It’s a happy and stimulating place to work and I’m already enjoying getting under the surface of our clients’ ambitions.”

His appointment marks another coup for Trethowans’ commercial team and its Bournemouth office, both of which have seen significant growth in the last year.

The corporate team has seen turnover increase by 16 per cent on last year, with recent deal values ranging between £750,000 and £35m. Meanwhile, the Bournemouth office has outgrown its existing space so quickly that it’s already in talks to expand.

Managing partner Chris Whiteley said: “The reaction to our Bournemouth office has been impressive and we’re pleased to report that we’re expanding our team even further. Robert will play an important part in the further growth of the team in Dorset in coming years and his advice will be of real value to our clients.”
