BH Live Hospitality, the catering division for leisure and cultural trust BH Live, has reported a successful first year of operation with a turnover in excess of £4 million.

From conference and exhibition delegates to event goers at the Bournemouth International Centre and Bournemouth Pavilion; leisure centre customers to large scale private dining and catering contracts, BH Live Hospitality has provided food and drink for over 1 million customers since July 2011 and employs more than 90 people across six outlets.

Notable BH Live Hospitality achievements in 2011 / 12 include the launch of four catering outlets under a new ‘Terrace’ brand, VIP catering packages to support entertainment and cultural events at the Bournemouth International Centre, securing new conference business as a result of flexible catering provision and working with local suppliers to support the local economy.

“Since our launch in 2011, the BH Live Hospitality team has created a thriving and forward thinking catering division. We have been able establish ourselves as one of the largest catering providers in the region and consolidate procurement across our six venues and facilities to provide a competitive and high quality catering service. Looking forward, we are planning to expand retail catering within BH Live facilities through capital investment, upgrade catering facilities and tender for external catering contracts”, said Alex Robertson, general manager for BH Live Hospitality.

Peter Gunn, chief executive for BH Live, added: “When planning the development of an in house catering division, BH Live wanted to achieve the best possible catering service for our customers, the local economy and clients. I am delighted these goals have been reached by BH Live Hospitality and plans for future investment and development in the coming months are very encouraging indeed.”
