Bottling division of Coca-Cola launches innovative new virtual work experience program
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) GB has put in place a brand new virtual on-demand work experience programme which will be accessible for all young people across Britain.
The company, which deals with the more practical and logistical side of Coca-Cola's operation in the UK, is placing the scheme central to its new initiative to drive diversity and inclusion in their workplaces.
The programme is mainly aimed at teenagers who are considering their future employment prospects, being targeted at youngsters aged between 14 and 18. Though it'll also be open to undergrads about to enter a professional workplace.
The scheme is accessible via CCEP’s careers partner Start and will boast video content, quizzes, practical tasks and real-life industry challenges and scenarios. All in an attempt to offer insight and experience in a wide range of commercial roles and departments including operations, HR, sales, marketing and engineering.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners GB's Head of Early Careers, Sharon Blyfield OBE, is excited about the launch. She said the following:
“We know that it can be challenging for people to access work experience that gives them a launchpad to develop their career. That’s why it was so important for us to work with Start and Whizz-Kidz to create programmes that would be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or where they live."
“Our virtual programmes are therefore a fantastic opportunity for anyone who thinks they might be interested in a career with CCEP in the future or would like to learn more about this fantastic industry while developing valuable workplace skills."
“From using marketing to help customers understand our different brands and products, to learning how we make 16.4 billion litres of soft drinks each year while working to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, our work experience students will learn all about the vital roles that keep the wheels of our business turning.”
Anyone who completes the programme will gain certification which will be considered favourably should they come to apply for further apprenticeships or roles within the company. It's likely to also be beneficial to any student's application to university or college.
