Blenheim releases a beer made with its very own mineral water
In time for Christmas, Blenheim Palace will release its own limited-edition trademark beer, which will be produced using natural spring water from the Oxfordshire estate. The renowned Hook Norton Brewery used fresh water gathered from the location itself to brew "Blenheim Palace" Signature IPA.
The Blenheim estate manufactures and exports more than four million bottles of mineral water annually. The water is obtained from an underground aquifer 40 metres below the estate's surface.
The skilled brewers at Hook Norton created the unique flavour and taste of the beer in their own artisan micro-brewery. "Blenheim Palace" has a golden hue, flowery aromas, and a mild citrus flavour. It is brewed using a blend of Challenger, Chinook and Admiral hops.
Blenheim Palace’s Head of Retail Judy Bentall said this about the exciting news: "We’re delighted to have our very own beer created by the award-winning brewers at Hook Norton. The brewery is just 15 miles from the estate and the fact it’s been made with natural Blenheim mineral water makes it a truly local beer. It’s a limited edition which we have launched for Christmas and we’re expecting it to prove popular as a festive tipple."
Head Coachman Nick Carter added: “We were thrilled to work with Blenheim Palace to help deliver their Signature IPA beer and promote and raise awareness of these fantastic working horses and their very much still relevant role in today’s modern world.”
Along with being sold in stores and eateries in Blenheim, the beer will also be sold online.
