BladeRoom – A Gloucestershire Success Story…

With origins dating back to the early 1980s, the success story of the Gloucestershire-based BladeRoom group of companies continues to unfold.

The group is proud to have built a reputation for the rapid delivery of mission-critical modular facilities - including data centres, healthcare and pharmaceutical facilities - across five continents.

National governments and some of the world’s largest companies have put their faith in BladeRoom’s award-winning data centre technology and over 100 healthcare facilities – including operating theatres, wards and specialist treatment units – have been delivered to the NHS by the group’s ModuleCo business.  Most recently, ModuleCo delivered two acute Isolation Wards to NHS trusts in just 8 weeks to assist in the nationwide effort to combat COVID-19.

Since 2008, the group has grown from just over 30 staff and a single 40,000 sq ft factory in the Forest of Dean to 70 staff and 125,000 sq ft of assembly space across four factories, with further expansion planned.  The group has also in this period, developed a successful US manufacturing and distribution arm.

Annual turnover has more than trebled and the group has, through continuous improvement,  expansion of its product portfolio and delivery of every facility on time and on budget, continued to secure repeat business as well as attract new clients.

None of this success would have been possible without the skill, effort and determination of BladeRoom’s employees and the close relationships built up over many years with its sub-contract and supply chain partners, the vast majority of whom are UK-based, many of them in Gloucestershire.

To support BladeRoom’s growth plans, the group is currently looking to recruit talented, ambitious and forward-thinking individuals across all of its teams including Sales, Design, Project Delivery and Technical.

William Thornton, BladeRoom CEO said, “These are exciting times for our business and I am grateful to the expertise, energy and determination of our team in helping us achieve our success so far.  We see a number of opportunities to build on our previous growth, invest in the expansion of our product range and continue to exceed the demands and expectations of our clients.  We look forward to welcoming new talent to help us achieve these goals.”
