Glug, the global events series for the design and creative community, is launching its Reading chapter this month.
The first Glug Reading will take place on January 28 at Rynd in Castle Street, with an opening talk from Glug founder Ian Hambleton, who is also Reading-based.
Based around talks and informal networking, Glug has become one of the most exciting, credible and well-attended creative events on the calendar, with locations including London, New York, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Leeds and Oxford.
The Reading chapter will be launched by Connect TVT, the Reading-based platform aimed at driving the start-up and digital economy in the Thames Valley.
Louize Clarke, ConnectTVT co-founder, commented: “Reading is fast gaining a reputation for its cluster of great design and creative talent, from architects through to marketing agencies. We wanted to give this community a place to come together, learn more about their industry and have fun, and Glug was the perfect way to do this. We’re so excited to be bringing Glug’s energy and ethos to the creative community in Reading.”
Hambleton added: “Reading has been my home-town for over 10 years now so bringing Glug here is really special. I really believe Reading has the potential to be on the map as a leading creative and design centre – up there with other Glug locations, so we’re looking forward to being part of this.”
