Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards return with £1m pool for charities
Residents in Gloucestershire are invited to nominate a good cause to receive £1,000 from the Benefact Group as part of its annual Movement for Good Awards.
The awards return for the fifth year running with a pool of more than £1 million available to charities across the UK and Ireland. Since they began in 2019, the people of Gloucestershire have submitted more than 56,000 nominations, directing funding towards 110 different charities in the county.
Benefact Group has donated almost £200 million to charitable causes in the last decade, with plans to reach £250 million by 2025. This legacy recently earned the Group recognition as the third biggest corporate giver in the UK.

Chief Executive Mark Hews said: “We are immensely proud to be supporting many hundreds of charities through our Movement for Good Awards. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference, so we’re asking that people give a minute of their time to nominate a cause they care about to receive an award.
“Owned by a charity ourselves, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do and all of our available profits go to good causes. With financial strain continuing to impact many households, the Movement for Good Awards represents a great way for people to continue to support causes close to their hearts, without worrying about an additional cost.
“Any charity can win no matter how large or small and even with just one nomination. So find a minute, jump online and nominate – because that small amount of time is invaluable for charities.”
Winners will be drawn at random, but the more votes a charity gets, the greater chance it has of being selected. 150 winning charities will be announced from 1 June, with a further 150 revealed in September, as well as other gifts throughout the year.
