Leading UK law firm, BDB Pitmans, is pleased to sponsor the Corporate Deal of the Year category at the principal event in the region’s corporate finance calendar, the Thames Valley Deals Awards.

As the legal adviser of choice to a wealth of corporate clients across the south east, the firm is delighted to have the opportunity to participate in a celebration of talent from across the region.

The Thames Valley Deals Awards bring together corporate finance advisers, wealth management teams, tax specialists, lawyers, advisory specialists, bankers, private equity investors, accountants and professional talent from across the corporate finance community. The award categories are designed to highlight the work of the region’s leading dealmakers, corporate finance specialists, lawyers, accountants, banks and non-bank lenders.

The Corporate Deal of the Year category highlights excellence at a regional level and is an award for the sale of a local business to a strategic acquirer that has the most impact on the local economy. While the acquirer may be PE-backed, the transaction will include a financing deal to fund an acquisition, a JV, growth of the business, and expansion into new products areas or markets/overseas.

With transactional activity particularly strong across the Thames Valley throughout 2021, it is expected that the category will attract a vibrant and exciting shortlist.

John Hutchinson, Senior Partner at BDB Pitmans, commented: “BDB Pitmans is thrilled to sponsor the Thames Valley Deals Awards. We believe that the Corporate Deal of the Year category is important because it creates a platform to acknowledge the teams and individuals behind the deals, those people who are quietly making the greatest impact on the region and its economy.

With lots of deals taking place in the tech, transport, life science and healthcare and renewable energy sectors, business confidence is building and the deals market has remained lively. In addition to providing a space for teams to showcase their achievements, the event is a unique opportunity to highlight the best qualities of the Thames Valley professional community.”

A panel of judges will select the finalists and winners, with the deal of the year categories partially decided by the event audience, who will contribute 30% to the judges’ 70% vote.

Winners will be announced at a black tie event at Reading FC Conference and Events, based at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in Reading, on 3 November 2022.
