The nationally recognised Thames Valley law firm Spratt Endicott, was the firm of choice for Faccenda as its corporate law advisers on its recent acquisition of the UK’s second largest turkey producer Cranberry Foods from its shareholders.

The deal will see Faccenda become one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers with a turnover of  £400 million. John Spratt (Corporate) led the Spratt Endicott team, which included Carol Shaw and Debra Wetters (Employment), Laurie Heizler and Catherine O’Riordan (Intellectual Property and Legal Compliance) and specialist consultants Christine Ward and James Benger (Tax).

Spratt, senior partner at Spratt Endicott, commented: “The smooth progression of this deal and its favourable outcome within a short time frame of less than two months met our client’s requirements. The deal was completed in accordance with the mutually agreed timescales at the commencement of the transaction. Not only does it demonstrate the expertise available at Spratt Endicott, it also showcases our teams’ efficiency in resolving negotiations within a short timescale.”

Robin Faccenda of Faccenda Group added: “We were very pleased with the expertise and advice received from Spratt Endicott throughout the entire acquisition process. With few issues over the course of this deal, and any arising dealt with in a timely and cost effective manner, Spratt Endicott has earned its reputation for high quality legal work. We would have no hesitation in using the Spratt Endicott team again and would recommend them to any companies needing legal assistance in similar cases.”

Faccenda Group is a privately-owned family business and leading UK food producer with 2,000 employees. Founded in 1962 as an agricultural business, Faccenda today is a vertically integrated food business which supplies produce and services to many of the UK’s largest sellers of chicken.

Cranberry Foods, which has quickly become one of two major turkey producers in the UK since it was founded in 2003, was advised by Eversheds.
