AE Aerospace awarded new £3.6 million Airbus Contract
AE Aerospace, a leading manufacturing business in the West Midlands, has just secured a £3.6 million three-year contract with a major Aerospace Company in the Midlands, supplying complex machined components for the A220 Airbus programme.
AE Aerospace is a machine to print, subcontract precision machining company for the Aerospace, Marine & Defence industries. It manufactures low to medium volume prototype components, through to original equipment and higher volume manufacture, spares and legacy parts.
Obtaining an order of this scale, after 2020 saw civil aerospace manufacturing plummet, is a huge vote of confidence for the company and the sector. This contract will see AE Aerospace growing back to the sales levels seen in 2019 and will ensure that they can maintain employment for skilled staff, whilst providing additional supply chain work in the West Midlands.
The three-year contract reflects AE Aerospace’s continuous investment in their facilities, manufacturing technologies and their team. Ultimately, it is the investment in improved machining which resulted in a price reduction for the customer. In securing this agreement, AE Aerospace has demonstrated the ability to meet the competitive demands of cost, quality and performance expected.
Peter Bruch, AE Aerospace Managing Director, said: "With the well documented reduction in Civil Aerospace work and employment in 2020 due to COVID-19, this new order is a welcome boost to the West Midlands and maintains work in the UK."
AE Aerospace has consistently demonstrated the ability to meet the demands expected by customers and 2021 will see AE Aerospace’s order book continue to grow.
