A GP practice has opened the doors to its new £3.8million health centre on Rudloe Drive, Gloucester with funding support from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Rosebank Health joins two other new surgeries across Gloucestershire, designed to meet increased healthcare demands from several residential property developments in the surrounding area.

Rosebank Health secured funding from Lloyds Bank to pay for the 9,279 sq.ft. premises, which has 14 clinical rooms, treatment rooms, a minor operation suite and an on-site pharmacy.

As a result, 13,000 more patients can be cared for in the local area, and upwards of six jobs have already been created for the roles of nurses and reception staff. The practice is also currently recruiting for GPs.

Wyndham Parry, Practice Director, said: “We have worked for a number of years to secure the perfect site for our next surgery, and it certainly hasn’t come without its difficulties. We wanted somewhere that’s accessible and has the facilities needed to care for the growing population in the area.

“When we identified this spot on Rudloe Drive, with help from Lloyds Bank, we snapped up the opportunity to add this to our growing network of surgeries. We are pleased to finally open the doors to residents and look forward to becoming part of the local community.”

Steve Pratt, Senior Healthcare Banking Consultant at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “The team at Rosebank Health is extremely ambitious and has the best interests of their patients at heart. Wyndham, Dr Jon Unwin and his colleagues identified a gap for healthcare in the area and have worked hard over the past ten years so that no one is left without resources they truly need.

“Our latest Healthcare Confidence Index shows an uplift in general business confidence in the sector, and we are seeing increasing numbers of GPs, dentists and pharmacists opening across the South West of England. This ambition and resilience is encouraging to see during periods of ongoing economic uncertainty, and that’s why we are committed to helping Britain prosper.”
