£200,000 Flooring Superstore opened its doors to shoppers in Reading

Reading Flooring Superstore becomes the 10th store opened by the UK’s fastest-growing flooring retailer in less than a month – the store opened its doors to shoppers at Reading Gateway in May. The retailer has invested £200,000 and created four new jobs with the opening of the 4,475 sq ft outlet on Imperial Way.

This was the 10th store launched by Flooring Superstore since 12 April, with stores having also opened in Newcastle, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Hull, Basingstoke, Orpington, Norwich, Lincoln, and Carlisle.

Flooring Superstore, which started life purely online in 2012, only began opening physical stores in 2017, making it one of the fastest growing brands in the whole retail sector. Regional manager Ian Robinson said: “Over the past 12 months and despite of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have continued to open stores across the UK. In 2021, we have set a target of launching 25 new stores in large towns and cities and are therefore delighted to now add Reading to our list of locations.

“The past 12 months have not been easy for the retail sector, so we’re pleased to be able to make our contribution to the recovery, supporting the economy locally in Reading and Berkshire and nationally too with our other stores and significant online presence.”

Shoppers visiting Flooring Superstore in Reading have access to an unrivalled range of carpets but also a huge choice of other flooring, such as vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.

Robinson explained: “It means we can offer people all their flooring needs under one roof and because we started life as an online retailer in 2012 and have grown our outstanding e-commerce platform, shoppers who come to our stores are offered the same prices as they would if they bought via the Internet, so there’s no need to shop around.”

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Flooring Superstore is reaching out to local charities, voluntary organisations, or other good causes to see if they would benefit from donations of flooring for a particular project.

Robinson added: “It’s something we have always done and it’s our little way of giving something back to the local communities who support our stores.”
