We’re gearing up for our biggest and most exciting event to date - the Hampshire Business Awards.

We’ll be celebrating businesses of all sectors and sizes from manufacturers and education providers to investors and entrepreneurs.

One industry that never fails to draw attention is the ever-expanding world of tech.

Gulfstream Aerospace has joined us through sponsoring the Technology Innovation Award which seeks to recognise businesses that have demonstrated exceptional innovation in their use of technology to improve their infrastructure, increase productivity, and drive business growth.

Before we choose a winner to take home the coveted trophy at this year’s gala event, we’ve put together a list of seven companies who are making an innovative use of tech in their business:

3R

Driven by a genuine passion in the recruitment sector, 3R has consistently evolved its use of technology since being formed in 2013. The company’s team continues to expand, always adding to its band of experts. With a desire to see its clients’ businesses flourish, its ultimate goal is to revolutionise recruitment with new market leading technologies.

Brightbulb Design

Working closely with clients to deliver satisfying and personal results, Brightbulb Design is championing innovations in the worlds of design and digital. Having grown from a one-man home-based business to a well-known name in southern tech, the company is simply proud to be comprised of ‘really nice people doing really nice business’.

CanSense

Southampton-based CanSense makes excellent use of technology to provide services that are literally lifesaving. Using rapidly developing tech to aid in the detection of bowel cancer, the company’s methods are accurate, non-invasive and inexpensive. Cutting-edge data analytics and machine learning are critical to its refreshing take on healthcare.

Lifelight

Striving to deliver ‘the future of clinical observations’, healthtech company Lifelight aims to ensure that everyone can better monitor their health and ultimately live longer. Having been developed by xim Ltd, the team behind Lifelight boast a wealth of experience and knowledge that has been instrumental to the health of more than 8,500 patients.

TouchNetix

TouchNetix is behind countless innovations in the field of touch technology. Based in Fareham, it is a global leader in technological manufacturing with its wide range of chips, sensors and smart surfaces. From medical and marine to automotive and gaming, the work of TouchNetix has huge implications in every sector of business.

Universal Collaboration Research Ltd

Applying tech to maximise efficiency and sustainability throughout its operations, an effective use of innovation is at the core of Universal Collaboration Research Ltd’s business. From reducing its energy requirements and improving its energy storage to expanding its communications capabilities and focussing on connectivity to conduct business on a global scale, the company is integrating tech into every aspect of its business.

Wireless Navitas

With its Kozee range of smart home automation products, Wireless Navitas makes the use of switches, detectors, receivers and sensors as simple as it can be. Through the inclusion of an app to increase the flexibility and user-control capabilities over all of its systems, the company places a clear focus on innovation and versatility with no batteries or wires needed.

Every business looking to succeed in today’s world is implementing innovative tech at its core, but only one can take home the Technology Innovation Award from the Hampshire Business Awards.
