The UK’s tech sector is packed with companies that are striving to push the boundaries of the industry and drive world-changing innovations, but only one of them can be named the Tech Company of the Year.

At the Hampshire Business Awards, we’re looking to celebrate businesses of all sizes and backgrounds.

Categories recognising excellence in the southern tech world never fail to garner plenty of interest, so picking a winner for this award will be no easy feat.

Sponsored by Infinigate Cloud, this award will be presented to a tech company that has shown an outstanding performance, product or service innovation, and the potential to make a lasting impact on the industry.

So, what will our judges be looking for in a winner? What can you focus on to set yourself apart from other applicants?

To help you have the best possible chance of taking home the trophy, we’ve put together a list of 3 things that make up the Tech Company of the Year:

Entrepreneurial spirit – it's always easy to tell when a tech company is excited about the work it does. A driving entrepreneurial spirit shines through a company’s products and employees and is instrumental in setting the business apart from others in similar fields.

Ability to disrupt the market – Our judges will inevitably be drawn to nominees that have shown a clear vision for impacting the market. Jumping on a successful bandwagon or focusing on issues that can be solved by other means won’t be enough to win this award – the Tech Company of the Year will be one that is unique in its approach and second-to-none in the areas of quality and innovation.

Potential for growth – As well as showing excellence in customer service and supporting staff, a winner will be chosen based on their desire to continue to grow. A company that is unwilling to stagnate and determined to revolutionise the market through continuous development will be a frontrunner to take home a trophy from the Hampshire Business Awards.

So do you think you should be the Tech Company of the Year?

Nominations for the Hampshire Business Awards are open now, and our diverse range of categories has something for every business.

This category is a hotly contested one, with all forms of applicants vying for the prestigious title of Hampshire’s greatest tech company.

Entering our awards online is quick, easy and completely free.

There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain when you enter to become the Tech Company of the Year.
