The Thames Valley is renowned for its tech influence, and there’s plenty of companies that play a part in developing this vibrant culture of innovation and creativity.

In celebration of this year’s TV 250 Listing, we’ll be presenting a worthy winner with the Tech Company of the Year award, and it could go to any one of these unique, privately-owned Thames Valley tech companies.

But before we choose the one to take home the trophy, we’ve put together a list of ten of the most notable businesses who could be in with a good chance of winning:

Cloudpay

Cloudpay pride themselves on ‘radically changing the pay experience for businesses and employees’ as their technology provides global solutions that get people paid on time no matter where they are. Having made strides in automation, control, accuracy and flexibility, there’s no wonder that more than 1500 companies have chosen Cloudpay for their global employee pay needs.

Causeway

Based in Gerrards Cross, Causeway is a leading provider of Construction software solutions in the Thames Valley. Crediting its great depth of expertise and unique perspective on the challenges it faces, Causeway’s incredible technology unlocks huge transformations in commercial performances for its clients.

From its innovative Job Search App to its board displaying more than 180,000 live vacancies, this Fleet-based business offers a recruitment service like no other. CV Library currently circulates more than 18.5 million CVs to employers across the country.

Rebellion

Founded in 1992, Rebellion has since grown to work on some of the most well-known and acclaimed titles in gaming, most notably its flagship ‘Sniper Elite’ franchise, Alien Vs Predator and Star Wars Battlefront. The future looks bright for Rebellion, as we wait eagerly to see what projects are produced by Rebellion Film and TV, Rebellion Publishing and Rebellion Unplugged too.

HR Wallingford

HR Wallingford’s team of professionals are experts in how water moves, behaves and influences communities and industries. The independent civil engineering and environmental hydraulics organisation puts a much-needed emphasis on sustainability, always focussing on ensuring that its solutions work in tandem with water’s natural attributes.

P2i

Based in Abingdon, P2i delivers ultra-thin barrier coatings to protect devices and materials in a way that is both highly effective and sustainable. It’s aware that only 17% of e-waste is recycled each year and that while this material poses a threat to human and environmental health, this problem is only forecast to worsen. As a result, P2i places sustainability at the heart of its operations while offering a lower application cost and a lower total cost of ownership to incumbent conformal coating solutions.

Progressive Technology Group

With a team of market-leading engineers, Newbury-based metallic components manufacturer Progressive Technology Group provides precision components to some of the most significant players in the motorsport, aerospace and defence sectors. An award-winning business, the group specialises in advanced CNC multi-axis machining, fully finished carbon components, class-leading patterns, structural foams and three-dimensional additive manufacturing.

Though all ten of these companies stand out in the Thames Valley region, only one company can be named the Tech Company of the Year.

Sponsored by EvolutionCBS, this award will be given to a Thames Valley tech company that has made strides in innovation, sales and profitability, product development and/or contribution to the sector.

The TV 250 networking evening and private awards ceremony is being held on the 4th of June 2023 at Easthampstead Park – all companies featured on the listing are invited to attend and to put themselves forward for a chance to win this award or any of the other 9 awards up for grabs on the night.

Thank you again to EvolutionCBS for sponsoring this award and event, and we look forward to seeing you in June.
