Kent’s The Little Green Energy Company sold to Hometree

Renewable energy installer The Little Green Energy Company (LGEC) has been acquired by Hometree, a residential energy services company.

Based in Tonbridge, Kent, LGEC has installed solar panels, batteries and EV chargers across the South East since 2010.

PKF Francis Clark acted as lead advisors to founders Simon and Julia Dudson.

The team – comprising Andrew Killick, Tom Hicks, Rob Gear, Tom Slade, Kate Culley and Adam Kefford – advised on the complete transaction process, from pre-sale preparation to marketing, negotiation support, vendor assist due diligence support and tax structuring, including advice on the enterprise management incentives (EMI) scheme.

Simon Dudson, CEO of The Little Green Energy Company, said: “As I’ve come to realise over the last 12 months, selling a business is not easy.

“You may know your business inside and out, but M&A is different.

Founded in 2015, Hometree has become a leading UK brand in residential energy services.

With an initial focus on home emergency breakdown and insurance, the business has since expanded into renewable installations and financing.

Hometree has now raised over £85 million in funding, and this latest acquisition comes after the company secured its first debt facility from funds and accounts managed by BlackRock.
