{"id":312474,"date":"2023-10-27T03:22:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T03:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebusinessmagazine.co.uk\/?p=312474"},"modified":"2023-10-26T15:29:58","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T15:29:58","slug":"oxfordshires-hutano-diagnostics-acquired-by-edx-medical-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebusinessmagazine.co.uk\/technology-innovation\/oxfordshires-hutano-diagnostics-acquired-by-edx-medical-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxfordshire's Hutano Diagnostics acquired by EDX Medical Group"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cambridge digital clinical diagnostic outfit <a href=\"https:\/\/edxmedical.co.uk\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/edxmedical.co.uk\/\">EDX Medical Group <\/a>has bought Oxford health testing platform Hutano Diagnostics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2018, Hutano Diagnostics\u2019 mission is to enable accurate and timely disease prognosis, diagnosis and management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a focus on improving the capabilities of lateral flow devices (LFDs), Hutano has developed a quantitative LFD platform, which translates the latest proteomics research into multiplex LFDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDX Medical develops innovative digital diagnostic products and services, for the personalised treatment of cancer, heart disease and infectious diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thebusinessmagazine.co.uk\/corporate-finance\/2023-thames-valley-deals-awards-finalists-announced\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thebusinessmagazine.co.uk\/corporate-finance\/2023-thames-valley-deals-awards-finalists-announced\/\">READ MORE: 2023 Thames Valley Deals Awards finalists announced<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquisition will enable EDX Medical to expand its point-of-care testing capabilities with a range of tests capable of accurately measuring a combination of multiple disease markers on a single device within minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penningtons Manches Cooper advised Hutano Diagnostics on the sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team was led by corporate partner Will Axtell, with support from senior associate Dominique Sabatini, associate Leo Shrimpton, and corporate tax partner Kathy Potter. The wider team included support from banking and finance partner John Chater, pensions senior associate Clare Coley, and data protection senior associate Nora Pook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hutano Diagnostics Ltd founder and CEO, Atherton Mutombwera, said: \u201cJoining forces with EDX Medical Group PLC opens up a world of possibilities.
