Cardiff-based commercial interiors company Paramount is set to open a new office in Bristol, creating up to 20 jobs in the city.

The St Mellons-headquartered company, which has been trading since 1989, will strengthen its presence in the market with a Bristol city centre base, as it targets £50-million turnover within three years.

Paramount’s new office, on historic Welsh Back, alongside Bristol’s floating harbour, is currently being fitted out, with its opening scheduled for July.

Paramount sales director Kevin Mashford, who will lead the Bristol team, said: “We are really excited to be opening an office in the heart of Bristol.

“We pride ourselves on making places where people want to be and that’s certainly the case with our new Bristol office. It will not only be a highly practical, destination workspace, but also one of the city’s most aesthetically-pleasing, ‘Instagrammable’ offices to attract the talented people who will maintain our momentum and help Paramount clients prosper.”

Bristol-based Bafta-nominated natural history film-making company, Offspring Films will also call the Welsh Back building its new home following a fit-out by Paramount who will use state-of-the-art design capabilities, to celebrate Welsh Back architecture and create a meeting place for the Bristol business community.

The new West of England office represents the latest chapter in the development of a company that in 2018 was the subject of a management buyout, led by Paramount's managing director, Richard Jones.

“The opening of the Bristol office is a real statement of intent by Paramount,” he said.

“As we embark on the next phase of our journey, I am confident our Bristol team will play a key role in making sure Paramount turnover surpasses the £50 million-mark within the next three years."

Paramount, whose turnover currently stands at £33.5million, developed office space for a number of leading companies.

These include Rowan Dartington, St. James Place Wealth Management Ltd, Highways England, Nordic Semiconductors, BT and accountants KPMG in Southampton and Canary Wharf, the ITV West Country News and Birmingham offices and the AECOM base in Bristol.

Paramount are currently on site at 360 Bristol - formerly known as South Plaza - which is the largest refurbishment currently on site in Bristol, and a 25,000 sq-ft refurbishment for Salaft Property at The Cube.

Paramount also sponsors the Bristol Bears rugby star, Wales international fly-half Elinor Snowsill.

Closer to home, Paramount has fitted out the dressing rooms at the world-famous Principality Stadium and is currently delivering Wales and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale’s new bar, restaurant and mini-golf concept, Par 59 in Cardiff.

Other large-scale design and fit-out projects include the Office for National Statistics HQ in Newport, the 50,000 sq-ft Hodge House re-development and the Development Bank of Wales' new workplace at Capital Quarter in Cardiff.
