There has been a wave of enthusiasm for wild water swimming, but what if you could enjoy swimming without chlorine from home?

A British swimming pool specialist is celebrating its 15 year anniversary by launching mineral water swimming in an economical package.

Since it started life in late 2007, Clear Water Revival has become a leading luxury pool designer and builder, while developing biological filtration technology which creates pure water, chemical free pools. Until recently, the company has specialised in highly bespoke one-offs – actress Kate Winslet features on its customer list alongside global figures in music and sport.

Now, in partnership with manufacturers from Holland and Belgium, the company is offering its unique filtration system – clear mineral water free from plants or chlorine – to a wider market.

With the first one-piece pool already installed in a private residence in South Wales, Clear Water Revival is engaging with homeowners and boutique hotels looking for the freshwater experience without the need for vegetation found in a natural swimming pond.

Originally founded by two scientists, backed by research funding from Innovate UK and the University of the West of England, Clear Water Revival is now led by experienced financial director Jon Heywood. Mr Heywood hopes to grow the business to double the sales volume, with 50 per cent increase in profits year on year in 2023.

“We all know the many benefits of swimming as a natural, chemical-free experience,” he said.

“With science proving the vital importance of the human microbiome to health and wellbeing, people are looking far more closely at what goes into and onto their body. Our pools are the only option for maximum health benefits combined with day-to-day practicality.

“Our purification process is completely unique, using billions of microbes to remove pathogens and impurities and produce natural spring quality mineral water. This is complemented by adding thermal spa minerals such as selenium and magnesium to produce superior mineralised water that revitalises your skin, hair and body, working in harmony with nature in contrast to conventional salt and chemical water treatments.

We’ve got something special to offer the potentially thousands of customers who install swimming pools each year. It’s the best of both worlds and the future of natural water swimming.”

CWR uses German pump engineering and the best possible components alongside handmade one-piece shells which are recyclable and imported  from our manufacturing partners in Belgium. The pools can be heated to 30 and are provided with automatic covers.

Based at offices in Bridgeyate on the outskirts of Bristol, CWR is comprised of an 11-strong team of engineers, operations, sales and project management staff. Sister company Origin Aqua (Hydrolize Ltd) provides the technological expertise behind the business.

“We believe a one-piece pool is the fastest, most economical way to experience mineral water swimming at home,” says Jon. “As our domestic tourism economy continues to develop, we are offering an enticing option for homeowners and hospitality businesses looking to give themselves and their customers a healthy and pleasurable swimming experience.

“For maintenance, we’re a clear contrast with swimming ponds, which contain a great deal of organic plants to keep the water clean and need considerable work each year to maintain. In addition to this, our maintenance regime is safer and simpler than chlorine pools for the simple fact, there is no chlorine, or salt, or any other traditional poolchemical to buy or handle.
