A bit about Barrington Ayre
Tom Wharton, set up Barrington Ayre Shirtmaker & Tailor in 2010
Tom said he always found Savile Row intimidating. The tailoring shops on the Row aren't always the most welcoming and he wanted to be able to provide the finest tailoring in an environment where his customers could feel relaxed and really enjoy the experience.
So, he set up, Cirencester, in a first floor Showroom that is relaxing and inviting. They have a beautiful hand made blue Chesterfield sofa to relax on whilst you peruse the fabrics and designs. The offer tea and coffee as well as wine and beer and even a gin and whisky bar for those who fancy a tipple.
In early March 2019 Barrington Ayre opened their new Luxury Lifestyle Hub, a room next door to the current Showroom where you can go and learn about tailoring and luxury lifestyle in the comfort of a classic members club feel, where coffee is readily available, you able to read the magazines and books they have as well as catch up with friends and watch the sport on TV.
In January 2020 they expanded and took over the 2nd floor that now houses their offices and workroom where they make our own range of unstructured clothing.
This is all made by the in house Tailor, Sian. Sian studied tailoring at The London College of Fashion before going to work for Dege and Skinner on Savile Row. After spending three years on Savile Row, Sian wanted to return to the Cotswolds and Barrington Ayre were absolutely delighted to welcome her.
Barrington Ayre's clothing is worn by the likes of Dan Walker from the BBC, Robbie Savage, Mark Chapman, Charles Dagnall, David 'Bumble' Lloyd and Michael Vaughan.
