Guildford-based nature intelligence company NatureMetrics has expanded its operations in South East Asia with the addition of an in-country partner laboratory in Bogor, Indonesia.

As international demand rises for the company’s biodiversity monitoring services, the expansion enables NatureMetrics to reach new projects in the biodiverse region of West Java.

There’s also a rising number of early adopters in the Asia-Pacific region of the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) initiative, which sees companies looking to improve reporting on their biodiversity and ecosystem impacts.

Dimple Patel, CEO of NatureMetrics, said: “Recognising the urgent global call for scalable and meaningful biodiversity monitoring, our expansion into Indonesia signifies a milestone in our ambition to become the world’s leading provider of nature intelligence services globally.

“We look forward to supporting more organisations in the whole APAC region deliver vital biodiverisity insights to support their nature goals.”

Considered one of the top ‘megadiverse’ countries by the Convention on Biological Diversity, Indonesia is a biodiversity hotspot and opens up a ‘valuable opportunity’ for NatureMetrics.

The lab – one of the largest independent labs in Indonesia – was selected due to its impressive track record of quality.

Andrew Briscoe, director of science at NatureMetrics, added: “This new partnership helps us to serve an important global hotspot for biodiversity, while ensuring we maintain the strict standards and conditions needed to enable the generation of high-quality data and insights.”

NatureMetrics provides clients with an end-to-end biodiversity reporting solution aligned with major reporting requirements.

The company is now working with over 500 customers across 100 countries, including Nestle, Tesco, Anglo American and Fauna & Flora.
