Surrey’s Sunswap test drives mobile refrigeration unit with MAN Truck & Bus

Leatherhead-based Sunswap has teamed up with MAN Truck & Bus for the first UK test drive of MAN’s TGX 4x2 eTruck fitted with Sunswap’s Endurance refrigeration unit.
Endurance is the first purpose-built fully electric transport refrigeration system, posing the opportunity for a fully sustainable supply chain.
It’s now been trialled by 22 customers and is set to hit UK and European roads this summer, with DFDS, TIP Group, Bannister Transport and Samworth Brothers among the first adopters.
The showcase with MAN took place at the MIRA test track in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
Michael Lowe, CEO of Sunswap, said: “This collaboration represents a significant leap forward in the drive towards a net zero cold chain.
“By combining our zero-emission electric transportation refrigeration system with MAN’s electric truck, we’re demonstrating that a fully sustainable supply chain is not only possible, but is the future of the industry – and its already here.”
