27 September 2022

Guild eSports PLC, a David Beckham-founded eSports firm which is backed by Crawley-based Blue Star Capital, has signed a three-year global sponsorship deal with media and entertainment goliath Sky UK.

It is Guild’s largest sponsorship to date, and the company believes it to be one of the largest European esports sponsorship agreements ever signed. The deal will be paid in cash over the term of the contract.

The partnership sees Sky take over naming rights of Guild’s head office facility in London. Sky has also been names as Guild's Official HQ Partner, Official Wi-Fi and Broadband partner and the Official Network Provider.

Its branding will be featured prominently on Guild’s team jersey along with being displayed across the inside and out of Guild’s HQ, soon to be renamed the Sky Guild Gaming Centre. Guild’s internet and telecoms will be provided by Sky.

The agreement will also allow Guild to form an all-female Rocket League team, which will join it’s fully female Valorant team launched last September.

Guild chief executive Kal Hourd said: “We believe this partnership will drive Guild to the highest levels of performance in top-flight eSports across the four games where we field our pro-players, as well as to become a global leader in coaching and performance.”
