Bristol’s Zap-Map partners with Nissan Motor GB

A premium subscription to charge point mapping service Zap-Map will be provided to purchasers of Nissan electric vehicles as part of a new partnership between the two firms.
Nissan’s private and business customers will receive a three-year subscription to the Bristol-based service, which includes in-car support via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Melanie Shufflebotham, Co-founder & COO at Zap-Map, said: "I'm very happy to announce Zap-Map's partnership with Nissan today.
“With drivers increasingly making the switch to electric, our focus at Zap-Map is on making charging simple, and that's exactly what this partnership between Nissan and Zap-Map helps to achieve.
"We know it can sometimes be hard to find suitable chargers while driving. By enabling access to Zap-Map within the in-car dashboard, our Premium offering makes navigation that much easier for EV drivers.
“That means Nissan retail customers will be able to view charge points, see live charge point status, access route plans, and link to a navigation app for turn-by-turn directions - all while on the move.
"As a company we really value feedback from our user community. We work extremely hard to understand the views of EV drivers, and that's how we came to develop Zap-Map Premium.
“So it's fantastic to see the partnership with Nissan going live today, ready to make EV navigation easy for Nissan customers across the country."

Since 2014, Zap-Map has established a comprehensive map and dataset of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the UK, including live status information for more than 70 per cent of charge points.
Alongside side the search, plan and payment features in the standard version of the app, the premium version allows users to access Zap-Map from the in-car dashboard, making it easier for drivers to view charging point data, access route plans and load them into GPS.
Nigel Pocklington, Good Energy Group PLC (Zap-Map’s majority shareholder) CEO and Chair of Zap-Map, said: "Partnerships and subscriptions are a key part of Zap-Map's growth strategy. Aligning with Nissan, one of the UK's and the world's most popular EV manufacturers, is a fantastic step forwards on this. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in driving the future of clean transport."
