National Apprenticeship Week: Solent University launches new online courses

This National Apprenticeship Week, Southampton Solent University is launching a set of online apprenticeships.
The two new courses, for operations managers and associate project managers, are both now open for application and offer flexible start dates.
Backed by £150,000 from the Office for Students, the university is also soon to launch its chartered manager degree level online apprenticeship.
All three courses are designed to emulate in-person learning and equip apprentices with the tools they need to excel in management across a range of sectors.
They’re aimed at both those early in their career and mature learners.
Prof Cathy Barnes, pro vice-chancellor for research, academic strategy and planning at Solent University, said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic pathway for anyone wanting to blend work-based experiences with their studies.
“Providing employers with a route for upskilling staff while growing their output, degree and higher apprenticeships at Solent cover a diverse range of subjects – including construction and healthcare, which are essential industries in need of skilled employees.
“Introducing online apprenticeships is a natural progression of our high-quality offering, removing access issues and ensuring higher education meets individual needs while delivering on the skills our businesses seek.”
