Cotswold Airport opens applications for aviation scholarship programme
Cotswold Airport in Cirencester is embarking on its 11th annual aviation scholarship programme, with applications now open.
The programme aims to help young people explore the broad range of experiences, roles and careers available in the aviation community.
Students are introduced to airport firefighting, military operations, control tower operations and air traffic service provisions, alongside site visits to engineering sites.
They’re also given the opportunity to fly real aircraft, with previous graduates taking to the skies in microlights, light aircraft, and helicopters – both real and simulated.

Suzannah Harvey, CEO of Cotswold Airport, said: “It’s exciting to once again announce the launch of our aviation scholarships for 2024.
“I don’t take it for granted how lucky I am to get up and go to work at an airport every day, and it’s amazing to be able to share some of those experiences with the aviators of tomorrow.
“Our aim has always been to make the aviation community as accessible as possible, and I see these scholarships as key to achieving that goal.”
The scholarships require no previous aviation experience and are open to those living in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bristol and Avon, Berkshire, or Oxfordshire.
Applicants must be aged between 15 and 18 on the first day of this year’s scholarship, 5th August 2024.
There are eight spaces available this year. Last entries must be received by 16th May 2024.
