Barclays Eagle Labs comes to Bristol’s Engine Shed
Engine Shed innovation hub in Bristol is now home to Barclays Eagle Labs, marking its 37th UK location.
Bristol Eagle Labs will provide startups and entrepreneurs with access to business expertise, banking services, and mentoring and coaching from scaleup specialists.
It will also offer members the opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, local organisations, universities, industry bodies, potential clients and investors from across the UK, helping them build their networks and grow.
Mike Paton, director of Engine Shed, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Barclays Eagle Labs to support accelerating innovation and sustainable growth of the regional economy.
“Funded by the UK government, Eagle Labs offer a wide range of support for entrepreneurs that complements our existing portfolio of services.
“We see this as a win-win for founders, startups and scaleups in the region.”
The Bristol site will be headed up by Jack Jordan-Connelly, who joins from the SETsquared Bristol tech incubator, where he served as business incubation manager.
Jack brings extensive knowledge of the West of England tech sector, having also picked up experience with cybersecurity startup Immersive Labs and consultancy firm Tech Scale.
He’ll now be based at Engine Shed to meet with members and help connect them with Eagle Labs’ network and resources.
Amanda Allan, Director at Barclays Eagle Labs, said: “We’re really excited to be opening our new Barclays Eagle Lab in Bristol and to welcome Jack onboard as our Eagle Labs’ ecosystem manager.
“Jack will be responsible for delivering our Eagle Labs philosophy, helping to provide startups and scaleups a home and to foster connections to help them grow.”
