SOWN chosen to market shared ownership homes at Newbury development
Housing association Funding Affordable Homes has appointed Berkshire’s SOWN to oversee sales and marketing for the new Sterling Gardens development in Newbury.
The scheme comprises 30 shared ownership homes, including both one- and two-bedroom properties.
Prices start from £62,500 for a 25 per cent share in a one-bedroom apartment and £81,250 for the same share in a two-bedroom apartment.
First-time buyers who meet the shared ownership eligibility criteria are invited to apply.
The site is located within walking distance of Newbury train station and includes secure undercroft parking for residents.
Peter Hawley, director of SOWN, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Funding Affordable Homes on this important project.
“Shared ownership is increasingly popular, especially with the end of the Help to Buy scheme.
“This scheme allows buyers to secure a new home with just a five per cent deposit of their share, offering an affordable and flexible route to home ownership.”
Richard McCarthy, chair of Funding Affordable Homes, added: “Providing affordable housing in Newbury is a crucial step towards addressing the housing needs of the community.
“Shared ownership offers an accessible path to homeownership, enabling more people to achieve their dream of owning a home.”
