A former restaurant in the popular Worcestershire town of Upton upon Severn will be going under the hammer at Bond Wolfe’s next auction on Wednesday, March 30.

The Grade II-listed freehold property at 20 Church Street has been listed with a guide price of £100,000+ in the live-streamed auction on Wednesday 30 March.

Most recently trading as Pasty World, the property has total space of approximately 1,355 sq ft with a dining area for around 40 covers, although it could be suitable for a variety of alternative uses, subject to planning permission.

Ian Tudor, Bond Wolfe’s joint managing director – auctions, said: “This property is a great little opportunity located close to the centre of the historic riverside town of Upton upon Severn.

“This is a thriving tourist town famed for its many spring and summer festivals, also serving a wide rural catchment area.

“The property occupies a prominent position fronting Church Street and overlooking the Heritage Museum, known locally as the “Pepperpot”, the tower of the original Church.

“There is a deceptively spacious ground floor includes a dining area, casual seating areas, a fitted commercial kitchen, and toilets.

“It also has useful cellar storage and many original features including part flagstone, part timber flooring and feature fireplaces.

“20 Church Street is considered suitable for a continuation as a restaurant and bar or a variety of alternative retail and commercial uses subject to any necessary planning consents.”

“The upper floor at the property contains two flats which have been sold on long leaseholds, each paying a ground rent of £150 per annum to the freeholder.”

Upton upon Severn is located approximately five miles south east of Malvern, 10 miles from Worcester and six miles from Tewksbury, with good access to the national motorway network via junction 1 of the M50 around three miles away.

The property is freehold subject to the long leasehold interest of the first floor flats, each producing a ground rent of £150 per annum, further details will be available within the legal pack.

The former restaurant is among scores of lots that will appear in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which starts at 9am on Wednesday 30 March. The auction will be live-streamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.
