Bruntwood SciTech invests in Midlands hub and welcomes senior asset manager
West Midlands property platform Bruntwood SciTech has announced new plans for its city centre innovation hub Cornerblock alongside the appointment of Moe Ali as senior asset manager.
Situated in the Colmore Business District of Birmingham and home to the likes of Facepunch Studios, Arcadis, and Mills and Reeve, Cornerblock will see its communal spaces transformed to provide new and improved areas for customers to collaborate and connect.
The centre is set to gain a brand-new reception area, complete with arrival space, concierge facilities, breakout areas and informal meeting spaces.
It will also feature a wider array of wellbeing facilities, including a studio and cardio gym, secure bike store and maintenance stations, and refurbished changing rooms.

Birmingham’s own Estilo Interiors will begin work in February and aims to finish this April.
Rob Valentine, regional director for the West Midlands at Bruntwood SciTech, said: “Work starting at Cornerblock builds on the momentum gained during Bruntwood SciTech’s recent investment.
“Our mission is to ensure that Birmingham is at the heart of progress by providing the state-of-the-art workspaces businesses need, alongside the knowledge and backing of industry and university partners.”
Bruntwood SciTech represents a joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General and Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
The company has also recently welcomed senior asset manager Moe Ali, who will take responsibility for its Birmingham portfolio.
He joins from Oval Real Estate, where he spent the last three years as asset manager for the Digbeth Estate, while a previous role at Colliers has given him experience within Birmingham’s central business district.
Moe said: “I’ve been a huge admirer of Bruntwood SciTech for a number of years.
“Its ongoing commitment to the continued advancement of Birmingham and the innovation economy, support for technology and science-driven businesses, and close relationships with key stakeholders will create a legacy for the region.
“In my new role, I hope to build on this success creating best-in-class workspaces to support the ambitions of the people and businesses across the city and region.”
Last October, Bruntwood SciTech announced a £500m commitment to support the UK’s innovation economy, with an aim to build a £5bn UK-wide portfolio by 2032.
Current projects include Enterprise Wharf at the Innovation Birmingham campus and Birmingham Health Innovation Campus.

“Following significant investment, we’re ready to hit the ground running this year and get underway with our extensive plans to develop and enhance office and lab-enabled space across the city, building on the existing ecosystem we have already established here.
