Bournemouth property firm serves up venue for racquet sports centre
A ‘significant investment’ will see a Dorset warehouse transformed into an indoor centre for the popular racquet sports padel and pickleball.
Smeda Sports are having purpose-built courts installed at the unit on Priory Industrial Park in Christchurch ready for opening this month.
Smeda signed a 10-year lease on the 15,418 sq ft premises which includes ground and first-floor offices and 24 parking spaces.
Bryony Thompson of the Bournemouth branch of property consultancy Vail Williams, who acted for the private owner of the property, said: “We have seen a considerable increase in requirements for indoor padel centres in recent months and we are pleased to have been involved with Smeda Sports bringing these two popular racquet sports to Christchurch which will no doubt be incredibly successful.”
Smeda Sports directors Tania Smeda and Karen Smith praised the location.
Priory Industrial Park includes 21 units, with a total of 123,000 sq ft.
