Bombardier to build 51,000 sq ft paint facility in Kent

Jet manufacturer Bombardier has shared plans to build a new paint facility at its London Biggin Hill Service Centre in Kent.
Planned to open in the second half of 2026, the 51,000 sq ft two-bay facility is expected to employ more than 50 skilled paint technicians.
It will complement the 250,000 sq ft service building at the site, which offers maintenance, modifications and avionics installation services for Bombardier’s Global, Challenge and Learjet aircraft.
“The addition of the new paint facility at the London Biggin Hill Service Centre is the latest example of how we continue to expand our service offerings for our customers in order to keep their aircraft in the air – and looking good as well,” said Paul Sislian, executive vice president, aftermarket service & strategy at Bombardier.
“This expansion perfectly aligns with our objective to ensure customers consistently receive an outstanding customer experience throughout our service centre network, ensuring that their aircraft are always at the ready for important missions.”
It follows a couple of other developments at the Biggin Hill facility last year – the opening of a 700 sq ft material lounge with a portfolio of interior materials, and the installation of more than 3,000 roof-mounted solar panels.
Bombardier also set up a new line maintenance station at nearby Farnborough Airport, providing light maintenance and aircraft on ground (AOG) support.
