Luke Murphy, MP for Basingstoke and chair of the all-party parliamentary group on climate change, was on hand to launch InstaVolt’s latest EV charging hub at Chineham Business Park.

Now open to the public, the facility – located near the M3 and A33 – features eight 160kW ultra-rapid chargers.

Luke praised the installation as an important step forward in making sustainable transport accessible.

“I want it to be easier to buy and use an electric vehicle so that everyone can benefit from the shift to a cleaner economy,” he said.

“InstaVolt is doing exactly that, and I’m delighted to see this commitment right here in Basingstoke.

“So many people tell us that they want to switch to electric cars but are worried about options for charging.

“Companies like InstaVolt delivering this infrastructure in our community gives drivers more choice and the confidence to switch.”

Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, said: “We’re thrilled to have Luke Murphy recognise the importance of our work at InstaVolt.

“The Chineham hub not only provides essential infrastructure for EV drivers but also supports the local community and contributes to the UK’s broader sustainability goals.”

The new facility also aligns with the sustainability ambitions of Frasers Property, which runs the business park and is looking to become net zero carbon by 2050.

Richard Hawkes, estate manager at Chineham Park, added: “InstaVolt providing an ultra-rapid charging station at Chineham Park not only demonstrates our commitment to our own sustainability goals but benefits our occupiers, helping them to more easily switch to electric vehicles.

“With an easy and convenient way to charge their vehicles during the working day, it will help with employee retention, attracting new talent and improving ESG initiatives across our community.”

Basingstoke-based InstaVolt’s network now features more than 1,800 chargers at 680 sites across the UK.
