Wellers welcomes back returning talent to Oxfordshire
Mid-market Oxfordshire accountancy firm, Wellers, has welcomed back two highly regarded young team members, Amy Carthy and Oscar Thomas.
Wellers has continued to support young talent during the pandemic, making 10 new trainee hires in 2020 alone. The firm has also strengthened its leadership team making five qualified and part qualified hires across the lockdown period.
Amy originally joined the firm in February 2017 as an AAT Trainee Accountant before departing in January this year. Oscar became part of Wellers in July 2017 when he also joined as an AAT Trainee Accountant before leaving for a role in a big four firm in London in 2019.
On returning to Wellers both cited the varied workload and the sense of being part of a close-knit team as key reasons for coming back. This mirrors a wider trend accelerated by the pandemic of wellbeing being a top priority in the workplace.
Oscar feels that working for the right organisation can give you job satisfaction and security, and given the uncertainty of the past 18 months, this is more important than ever. He said: “Our careers are a huge part of our lives. Where and how we spend 40 plus hours a week can have a big impact on our wellbeing, so it’s important to feel like you belong at your place of work, and not compromise on this. I’m really happy that I had the opportunity to try something different, but I’m excited to be part of the Wellers team again – I’m still in the group chat so it seems that I was always destined to return.”
