Irish construction company McAvoy Group has expanded its modular hire division, with Steve Docking joining the business as Regional Head of Modular Hire and Sales.

Steve will work from the firm’s Oxford base, and brings more than 30 years’ experience in the modular hire industry, including roles at Portakabin, Qube and Elite Systems.

McAvoy recently laid out an ambitious growth strategy for its modular hire division, with a large investment into its new fleet and the appointment of Vaughan Lingwood.

Steve will work alongside Vaughan to spearhead the growth of the business, building its client base in key target sectors including education, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

McAvoy Group is best known for its offsite projects, but also operates a successful hire division supplying temporary modular buildings for both commercial and public sector projects.

Mark Lowry, CEO of The McAvoy Group, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to welcome Steve to the team - his appointment is a real coup for us, bringing a huge amount of experience in the modular hire industry. It’s an exciting time to be joining McAvoy and I’ve no doubt Steve will be a huge asset.”

Steve said: “It’s great to be joining a business that puts innovation centre stage; that’s evidenced in the plans for the new fleet currently underway. I look forward to bringing my experience and contacts into this new role, working alongside Vaughan to deliver on what is an ambitious growth strategy.”
