Four new hires join growing Kent law firm Thackray Williams
Thackray Williams, a law firm with offices in Kent and London, has made four appointments on its commercial team off the back of strong growth.
The firm’s commercial division achieved 30 per cent year-on-year growth in the first six months of the current financial year, with its employment and corporate/commercial teams managing 46 per cent growth.
Among the new hires is Richard Ludlow, who joins as a partner in the commercial dispute resolution team.
He specialises in insolvency and restructuring work and defending director disqualifications.
“There are very few solicitors who specialise in director disqualifications,” said Richard.
“Given the ongoing targeting of directors over bounce back loan abuse during Covid and the business challenges being widely predicted for 2025, I’m pleased to be able to bring my expertise to expand the offering of Thackray Williams’ corporate and commercial team.”
Consultant Andrew Harbourne will support commercial property clients with expertise in non-contentious construction law – from site acquisition through design and build to onward sale.
“The people at Thackray Williams have made me feel very welcome,” said Andrew.
“The firm has a clear sense of what it wants to achieve and palpable enthusiasm to do it, and I’m excited to be part of that.”
Meanwhile, Nicki Rundle has joined as a senior associate in the commercial property team covering the Sevenoaks and Kent areas.
And Susan Collins, an associate solicitor in the commercial property department, has joined the firm’s head office in Bromley.
Emma Thompson, head of education, employment and corporate & commercial at Thackray Williams, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to strengthen our offering for our commercial clients with such strong additions to our team.
“This enables us to build on our growth in this field in the past year.
“But with demand for our commercial expertise continuing to grow, we’re on a proactive drive for another experienced commercial lawyer to join our commercial team.”
Thackray Williams is aiming to become a top 200 law firm after posting revenues of £12.2 million for 2023/4 – up 9.1 per cent on the previous year.
