Cheltenham based human resources specialists HR People Support and Charlton HR are to merge.

The new combined business will bring together expertise across the financial services, technology and charity/not for profit sectors. The two businesses will trade under the HR People Support brand. The move will enable them to strengthen their offer to existing clients by combining their two Chartered Institute of Personal Development accredited and complementary teams.

Chris Hickey, Charlton HR’s Founder/Director, will continue to work for the business as an Executive Director with responsibility for Strategic HR, Organisational Development and Training.

Chris said: “I’m confident our joint resources, knowledge and expertise will enable us to offer even more to help clients grow and manage their people effectively to meet the challenges we face now and in the future.”

Sarah Cook, HR People Support’s Founder, who will head up the business as Managing Director, added:  “Chris and I saw an opportunity to combine our expertise, whilst boosting our offer to existing and new clients.  I am looking forward to working with Chris, meeting and building relationships with Charlton HR’s clients and the team. All clients can expect continued relationship management from their current contact.”

With more than 25 years’ combined experience providing strategic advice and outsourced HR services in Gloucestershire and the South West, the company will continue to be based in in Charlton HR’s offices in Cheltenham, with its new team of seven staff. With aims to build on its 90 strong client base, the company will retain both founders with Chris Hickey scaling back and working part time.
