Surrey’s Crumbs Brewing smashes Seedrs funding target

A brewery in Reigate, Surrey which creates beer out of unsold bread has beaten its target on the crowdfunding investment platform, Seedrs.
Having originally targeted £150,000 through shares sold at £18.19, Crumbs Brewing’s campaign managed to raise £178,335 from 154 investors, representing a total funding of 118 per cent.
Crumbs Brewing was originally set up in March of 2019, and has been sold nationally in Waitrose and John Lewis since 2020. In this time, the brand claims to have saved more than 35,000 loaves from being wasted, and is currently awaiting B Corp status.

The company intends to use the investment to drive its growth, including creating a Crumbs Hub where it can sell direct to consumers, seeking out new product partnerships and investing in marketing and communications.
