The latest Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland has been published. With new stars being award along with the new Michelin Green Star for 2021 and new restaurants awarded the Bib Gourmand.

Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2021 on Monday 25th January announced that 17 restaurants had been newly awarded a Michelin Star. This brings the total number of One Starred restaurants in the 2021 guide to 158 in Great Britain & Ireland.

The Michelin Green Star Award is new for 2021 and was award to 23 restaurants across Great Britain and Ireland, with three of these being in Business & Innovation Magazines Region. The three restaurants to receive the new award were Daylesford Organic Farm in Daylesford, Gloucestershire, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saison in Oxfordshire and The Dining Room at Whatley Manor, in Wiltshire. Lumiere in Cheltenham, The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and the Wilder in Nailsworth were also awarded the Green Initiatives.

The Michelin Green Award highlights restaurants at the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices and who act as role models to us all. These restaurants hold themselves accountable for both their ethical and environmental standards, and work with sustainable producers and suppliers to avoid waste and reduce or even remove plastic and other non-recyclable materials from their supply chain (for more information on the Green Stars and Initiatives please click here).

In total, 126 restaurants have been awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2021 selection. Two of these are within our region the first is BOX-E based in Bristol serving modern British food and the second is Oli’s Thai in Oxford, serving Thai food.  ‘Bibs’ are named after Bibendum – the Michelin Man – the Bib Gourmand distinction highlights restaurants offering good food at competitive prices.

Within the our region there are not any newly awarded stars, however Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saison, The Dining Room at Whatley Manor and Tom Kerridge’s restaurant Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Oxfordshire retained their Michelin Two Starred status. The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn both in Bray, Berkshire have also retained Michelin Three Star status.

Within our region 16 restaurants retained their, One Starred status. The full list of all Michelin Star restaurants can be found at www.guide.michelin.com and our regions are listed below.
