Over 100 diners to enjoy the great outdoors as Cotswold restaurant moves completely outside
An Oxfordshire restaurant will be taking all of its tables outside to seat 120 when they reopen on Wednesday April 14th.
The Upton Firehouse is a large barbeque restaurant and has taken the risky move to take the whole restaurant outside so that they can finally open their doors again.
The decision comes in light of the gradual relaxing of the nationwide lockdown, as of April 12th restaurants and pubs are allowed to serve groups of six outside.
The venue, on the outskirts of Burford will open for breakfast and lunch from Wednesday April 14th to Sunday with a Pizza Night on the Wednesday evening and also a new special set barbeque menu on Friday night.
Sam, 32 and Jak, 27, took over The Firehouse in Spring 2019 and also an outside catering business and cook for private clients as well as events, something else they are hoping returns over the course of the summer. “The wedding industry has practically been frozen for over a year,” Firehouse business partner Sam Edwards said. “Caterers, like us, photographers, musicians, care and venue hire have all suffered. We hope that June 21st is the end of this for those wishing to celebrate something, not just marriage.”
Once government restrictions have lifted The Firehouse at Upton is open for breakfasts Wednesday to Sunday 8am-11am. Pizza Night runs from 4pm- 9pm Wednesdays while lunch is served Wednesday to Sunday 12pm-3pm.
